The Best Of Met Gala 2019: A Recap

Met Gala 2018 "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and The Catholic Imagination" blessed us with RiRi's high-fashion pope, Zendaya's Joan of Arc and Blake Lively's Goddess of the sun.

Like last year, the international event displayed more out-of-this-world fashion moments than we can count. From the shape defying to the ultra-glamorous and the stylish, leading world's celebrities flocked to the pink carpet to showcase and celebrate their impressions of this year's Met Gala theme "Camp: Notes On Fashion".

The Theme: Camp

This year's Met Gala's exhibit takes inspiration from Susan Sontag's 1964 interpretation of 'camp' as the "love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration." No, we're not talking about sleeping bags and tents on this carpet. We're talking about high-end and extreme fashion with an edge of sophistication, personality and a touch of crazy thrown into the mix.

Who Wore It Best

This year's Met Gala, we're on the look out for the 'Daring', 'Original' and 'Elegant'. So here's our top favourite ensemble picks that truly nailed this year's theme.

Lady Gaga

True to her name, diva Gaga ticks off all the boxes from the elegant, sophisticated to the original and compiled four gowns into one. She goes for this year's trending colours, fuchsia and black.

Kris Jenner

Seriously, this woman doesn't age. Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner channels her daughter Kylie's 2017 Met Gala do, a Tommy Hilfiger jumpsuit and a ruffle tulle cape for extra oomph!

Kylie and Kendall Jenner

Fierce in feathers - Kylie and Kendall made the grandest entry moment rocking some Versace showgirl inspired glam. Also, we we love a sister twinning moment!

Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid

Gigi (left) ticks the 'over-the-top' box with her Michael Kors custom Ice Queen look. Bella channels a modern Audrey Hepburn with a sharp pixie cut and a bejewelled gown with cut-outs (right).
