WHAT TO WEAR
Whilst we always seem to always revert to our fail-safe colour palette of black and white on the daily, how come when it comes to race day, it isn't as black and white as it seems?
When it comes to fashions on the field, the 'in' crowd of the racing world always refer to Derby Day as the highest regarded event on the spring racing calender. So word to this wise, if your heading trackside - being on point is pretty much mandatory *heavy breathing*. But never fear GF, that's why we're here to crack the Derby Day racing code and ensure you're stepping out like the 10/10 bebe that you are.
Whilst many people think monochrome means minimal, we disagree. It's all about what you bring to it and you couldn't choose a more on trend print than the polka dot.
Lace, check. White, check. Form-fitting shape, check. Need we say more?
Spring racing carnival is a time for elegance and class - but this doesn't mean your grandma's best dress. Highlight your curves in a sultry midi that speaks to your décolletage (without giving too much away).
If you're a girl who's wardrobe is predominantly colour, don't detare from the event of the year. Go bold in the form of sleeves, textures and hemlines. Still not enough (we hear you) - whip on a bold lip and you're ready to roll!
This time of year can always be a HUGE hit or miss weather wise. A dress that does all the talking, but isn't going to be a victim of a strong breeze is always a huge tick for us!
A WOMAN'S RIGHT TO SHOES
THE DO'S + DONT'S
- If you want to stay on top of the best-dressed list and avoid any fashion faux pas trackside, don’t leave it to the last minute.
- Take note of raceday etiquette, and stay far, far, far away from colour. People will be looking at your for all the wrong reasons *face palms*.
- So on the day focus around fashion, fillies and glamour, minimize the time spent on social media pretending like we are having a good time. Put down your phone, raise a glass and enjoy the day with your BFF's. Just kidding, we all know it didn’t happen if you didn’t gram it. #giddyup
