Meet Our Unidays Student Award Winner

The Unidays Awards 2019 is over! Out of six categories, Hello Molly has collaborated with Unidays to sponsor the Trendsetter Category, and have found their next bubbly and fashion-forward individual to join the Hello Molly team!

With support from the Creative Team, our winner Breanna Antone, has been given the opportunity to co-style our 2020 campaign, take over our social media platforms, tutorial on fashion flatlays, and gain exclusive insight of a beloved and popular Australian brand!

Say hello and get to know our new super star!

What are you currently studying?

Bachelor of Creative Arts (Visual Arts & Design)

-----

Favourite downtime activity after a long lecture?

Honestly – Netflix and a nap. #relatable

-----

What is it about the fashion industry that you’re so passionate about?

It really is so diverse with different career paths and roles, and it’s so creative.

-----

The fashion industry is such a broad career avenue. Any particular area you want to explore?

Because I have a background in Visual Arts, I think I like the fashion or textile design part of the industry, but I think it would be amazing to participate in the making of a haute couture collection.

-----

Who inspires you?

I love artists like Frida Kahlo, Tracey Emin and Jenny Saville, I think they’ve all inspired me at some point, but I’m also inspired by Alexa Chung and Caroline de Maigret.

-----

What’s the quote you live by?

“Some people die at age 25 but aren’t buried until they are 75.” - Benjamin Franklin

-----

Where do you want to see yourself in five years?

Maybe I would like to live in London in five years time, but most importantly I would like to be working for an eco-conscious brand, still creating art and be living happily.

-----

How do you think your comp entry differed to other applicants?

Most likely I think that my response showed just how passionate I am about art, design, textiles and fashion – especially sustainable and ethical fashion practices.

-----

Any advice to first year students starting university?

Stay open minded about the direction that your degree can take you in – I never thought I would be interested in fashion & textiles when I first started my degree.

-----

Go-to outfit for uni:

Usually something comfortable, like a long sleeve shirt under an oversized t-shirt and a denim skirt or jeans.

-----

A shout out to Unidays for the collab and allowing us to sponsor the Trendsetter Category! Also, a Thank You to Breanna for taking the time out of her busy schedule and giving us her amazing insight in the fashion industry!!
