Rush Week Tips and Tricks

Hello lovely,

We know Sorority Rush Week can feel a little intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. Whether it’s your first time going through recruitment or you’re heading back to campus, here are a few tips to help make the week feel a little easier.

Fashion Tips

Dress for yourself - Wear something that reflects your personal style and makes you feel comfortable and confident

Check the guidelines -  Every university has different dress codes for each day of recruitment, so double-check the expectations ahead of time.

Be prepared for anything -  A Tide To Go pen and wrinkle spray are crucial in case of spills or creased clothes.

Protect your feet… they will go through a lot! - Bring band-aids for potential blisters and backup shoes to change into between houses or on your walk home.

General Tips

Be yourself - The actives are just as nervous as you are.

Kindness matters -  Be respectful and kind to everyone you meet. Sorority members often have friends in other houses, and recruitment is about building positive connections.

It’s a two-way street - Recruitment is just as much about finding the right chapter for you as it is for the chapters to find new members. Stay true to yourself, and the right place will find you!

Keep the conversation going - Have a few questions in mind to help continue conversations naturally.

Stay open-minded - Every chapter has something unique to offer. Keep an open mind and trust that you’ll end up exactly where you’re meant to be.

Stay positive - It’s a big week, but it’s also an exciting one. Have fun and enjoy the process!

With that, wishing you the best of luck this recruitment season! Keep these rush tips in mind while visiting houses and meeting new people, and here’s to finding your place in this next chapter (quite literally)!
